Volunteering with JDRF
JDRF Canada was founded on the volunteer efforts of parents of children with type 1 diabetes. Through the years competent and dedicated volunteers have given in so many ways to JDRF. Recently our volunteer involvements included: government advocacy through activities like Project Head Start, Kids Lobby Day and Mission Possible Letter campaign, TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes where over 600 volunteers across Canada supported this core event, Ride for Diabetes Research with over 400 volunteers assisted in making this event memorable and a success. Additionally volunteers have been involved with our Gala’s, Golf tournaments and a host of other third party events.
Volunteering with JDRF offers valuable benefits to children living with type 1, their parents, families and friends. For many volunteers the chance to offer their skills and expertise, meet new people, promote the cause of JDRF in their communities and know that their efforts are contributing towards finding a cure keeps them involved and committed to the Foundation.
To our awesome volunteers we say: “Thank you for your passion, hope and caring! We wouldn’t have made it this far without you. We look forward to your continued involvement as every day gets us one step closer to the reality of a cure for type 1 diabetes”.
